Obituary of Rayman L. Bounds

Rayman Lee Bounds, age 77, passed peacefully on November 23, 2022 surrounded by his family at his home after an extended illness. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Sally (Randall VanNoy) Bounds of Canandaigua; brothers Rodney (Evilen Ward), Claude (Virginia), Robert and Gerald (Sharon); step-daughters Christine (Paul) Doody, Judy (John) Wint, Kay (Carl) Napoleon; step-grandchildren Kayla (Cole) Talbott , Brynna Doody, Brooke and Carter Napoleon; Several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A very sincere thank you to Ray’s great-niece Sam Sassone for her love, support and extensive care to help make Ray’s last days comfortable along with care from nieces Becky Miller, Wendy Ciardi, Cathy Bounds and Lorrie Whipple. We have great appreciation for the care Josh Frankish has given Ray for many years. He was predeceased by parents Rayman and Jane (Messersmith) Bounds; and wife Jean Bounds. Ray was born in Canandaigua, NY on October 22nd, 1945. Growing up, Ray spent many hours during his High School years farming and working the land for the Red Jacket Future Farmers of America (FFA). After graduating from Red Jacket Central School District he was drafted to the United States Army from 1966 to 1967, and was stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska ranking as a Spec 5 as a lead cook in the army and artillery. Ray was a self-employed agricultural mechanic. He enjoyed farming, truck driving, hunting, fishing, and especially spending time with his grandchildren. Ray was a former member of the Canandaigua Chiefs model airplane club and the Red Jacket Rotary. Ray is a member of the Manchester United Methodist Church and Farm Bureau. Ray and Sally enjoyed hosting a weekly home Bible study group for over twenty years. Friends may call from Saturday, December 3, from 11am to 1pm at Fuller Funeral Home, Inc. 190 Buffalo Street Canandaigua. A 1pm funeral service will follow at the funeral home. Military burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, Shortsville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Sands Cancer Center; 360 Parrish Street, Canandaigua, NY or Light Hill/Canandaigua Comfort Care Home, 5160 Parrish St. Ext.
