Tim Henecke

Obituary of Tim L. Henecke

Tim Henecke, of Rushville, age 84, passed peacefully on November 24, 2022, early in the AM surrounded by his family at Thomas Hospital. Tim was born July 4, 1938, in Marcellus Falls, NY to Evert and Bertha Henecke. He was predeceased by his parents and his bother Henry. He is survived by his wife of 37 years Betty (Carlisle), her daughter Chasity Washburn and family, his sons Brian, Scott Henecke and family, daughter Lori Latham, brother and wife Everett Jr., Leetta Henecke and family. Also survived by his deceased bother Henry’s wife, Thelma and family. He graduated from Phelps High School in Phelps after which he enlisted in the Navy and was honorably discharged. Tim spent most of his childhood years living in Phelps on the family’s farm. He may not have admitted it, but farming was in his blood. Almost every home he lived in throughout his life had an oversized garden. Tim was a quiet man. but very much loved his children and people. He worked at the Veterans Hospital for a few years. The family can remember him inviting men off the ward to his home for holiday dinners. There was a soft side to him not many people got to see. He enjoyed the outdoors and shared it with his family. Vacations regularly included camping and boating, sometimes including extended family members. Historical battle grounds were a passion and were often part of vacations; history was interesting to him. In the wintertime, he would set out into the woods looking for that elusive big buck. He more so enjoyed the solitudes of nature, because he never did bring one home. His love of the outdoors was evident in his later years, often sitting outside enjoying the visitors to his bird feeders. After Tim’s children from his first marriage moved on in their life, Tim married Betty and helped in the raising of her daughter Chasity as his own. They lived in East Rochester and Tim transferred from the VA to work for the Post Office at the Henrietta Hub. He enjoyed taking his family on motorcycle rides and loved tinkering around with anything in his garage. After Chasity moved on with her life, Tim and Betty settled down outside of the town of Rushville in the country where Tim again, put in a larger-than-life garden and many bird feeders. He and Betty enjoyed some traveling around the county and finally settled down to retirement… Friends and family may call Monday, December 5, from 11am to 1pm at Fuller Funeral Home, Inc. 190 Buffalo Street Canandaigua.
