Her nursing career started at the Rochester Psychiatric Center, continued in Illinois, New Jersey and back in New York where she retired from nursing after several years as the Nursing Home Administrator at the Newark Wayne Community Hospital. Besides caring for others, Sylvia enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, playing golf, reading and leading book clubs, spending time at their Ft. Myers, FL home and cross-stitching. Even after having a stoke, she re-learned to do the things she loved with one hand, including playing golf, baking her famous jello cookies and making cross-stitch gifts for friends and family.
