John Cascini

Obituary of John P. Cascini

John P. Cascini On Saturday, February 11, 2023, John Cascini unexpectedly passed away at the age of 64 (just a few days before his 65th birthday). John was born in Canandaigua on February 16, 1958, to Louis and Corinne (Wegman) Cascini. He had an Associate's Degree from SUNY Morrisville and a Bachelor's Degree from Empire State college and worked many years at Pactiv Corp in Customer Service. He was also employed in his retirement at three jobs: MedVed where he worked for many years, a photographer at Vision, and most recently at Marcus-Whitman School. John was preceded in death by his father, Louis, and mother, Corinne. He is survived by his step-father, Tyrone, his brother, Christopher (Sherry) Cascini and sister, Celeste (Craig) Andrews. John had a special friend, Molly and her children, Olivia, Lucas, and Desmond whom he adored. John also left behind many nieces, nephews, and many close wonderful friends. John was one of the most kind, thoughtful and generous people ever. He saved, looked for years and finally found his special home near to his brother and sister. He did not seek material items and instead was focused on the enjoyment of spending time with family and friends. John was generous to his family and friends. He offered to help with anything they needed and would drop anything to help. John and his brother and sister banded together against life's challenges and relied on each other for support and love, especially his sister - they were like twins. John was an avid lifelong runner. He won many awards for his races and enjoyed running with his friends, who tell frequent tales about John's speed and that he always challenged himself to do better. John also enjoyed watching high school and college-level sporting events. He had the most fun in his life cheering on family and friends who were competing in these events. John also appreciated antiques. John and his sister went to Pennsylvania once to be on the Antique Roadshow, which was a hoot. There was nothing of value, but the experience was fun. John's high school yearbook quote was: "Times change in many ways and we with time, but not in ways of friendship." He loved all his family and friends and will be forever missed. A 10 AM funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 3, at St. Dominick's Church, 97 West Main Street, Shortsville, NY. Burial will follow the service at St. Rose Cemetery.
