Obituary of Matthew James Hoose
Matthew James Hoose, 54, passed away on February 21st, 2023.
He is survived by his parents, Pamela and Norman "Skip" Hoose, his loving wife Amy, his children Ryan (Aundrea) Hoose, Taylor, Carson, Joy Hoose, and his step-children Dylan Schaertl, Ava and Fay Pickering.
Matt was predeceased by his sister Mandy Hoose and grandparents Renato "Ray" and Betty Vecchi.
Matt was born on August 26th, 1968 in Canandaigua, NY. As a young boy, Matt enjoyed hunting with his grandfather, working at the family bakery, and playing sports such as baseball and bowling. From there he forwarded his passions by managing bowling alleys across the eastern United States before moving his young family back home to Canandaigua. Matt followed in his grandfather's footsteps, eventually becoming the Ontario County Clerk in 2012, a position to which he aspired to for most of his life. In addition to his civic duties, Matt maintained his dedication to being a supportive and encouraging figure in his children's lives. He involved himself with anything from coaching T-ball to building sets for school musicals to being his family's eager chauffeur through all of their adventures. In his free time, Matt shared his love for cooking by sneaking tastes of his homemade pasta sauce and hosting the family barbecue while he grilled or smoked meat that even his vegetarian daughter could be proud of. He also enjoyed the outdoors whether that be on the golf course with his friends and family, on the lake fishing and boating, or appreciating the Maine coastline with his cherished wife, Amy.
Matthew Hoose was a passionate man, happiest when surrounded by those he loved. He will remain in the hearts of those who continue to love and remember him.
