Obituary of Frances A. Straub

Frances Agnes Straub (née Trymbiski) peacefully passed on March 19th, 2023 at her home in Canandaigua, NY. She believed in her family, faith, and community and was passionately active in each of them. She was born June 8, 1948, in Philadelphia, the 6th of 11 children of Theodore and Mary Helena Trymbiski (née Gallagher). Frances graduated from Archbishop Wood High School and Eastern Nazarene College. As an RN, she worked with the underserved community, including the homeless, within the City of Boston, at New England College of Optometry, and through the Canandaigua VA hospital. End-of-life care and patient advocacy were her callings. Frances was predeceased by her parents and brother, James Trymbiski. She is survived by her four children and 11 grandchildren, Christina (Geoffrey), Mary Margaret, James, and Theodore Delisio; Wesley, Finnegan, and Stella Straub; Theodore (Christine), Saydee, Solia, and Sawyer Straub; and Francis (Shannon), Oliver, Vivian, and Nora Straub; nine siblings, Mary (William) Craig, Helena (John) McCabe, Theodore (Linda) Trymbiski, Ann (James) Longon, Michael (Linda) Trymbiski, Joseph (Patricia) Trymbiski, Francis (Robin) Trymbiski, Brian (Betty) Trymbiski, and Theresa (Leo) Sanders; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins. Frances bequeathed her body as an anatomical gift. Her soul will be celebrated at a memorial Mass on Saturday, April 29th at 11 am at St. Martin of Tours in New Hope, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The University of Rochester School of Nursing. A local celebration will held in Canandaguia, arrangements will be shared on this site shortly.
