Michael Leon Galens, 69, of Rushville, NY, passed away unexpectedly at home on April 14, 2023. Lisa, his loving wife of 35 years was by his side.
Mike was born in Clifton Springs, NY to Leon and Marge Galens. He graduated from Marcus Whitman High School in 1972. From then on family and farming became his life's devotion. Mike was hardworking, always ready to help, and required little to be happy. If he wasn't riding a tractor, he was fixing one at Lawnhurst Farms in Stanley, where he enjoyed working for the last 18 years. When not at work, Mike enjoyed spending time in the garden, cooking, reading or indulging his interest in WWII aviation, whether it be attending an airshow or building model planes with his grandchildren.
Most of all, Mike loved time with family. He was beloved husband to Lisa (Goodness), father to, Jason (Meredith) Galens, Kelcey (Darrin) Canova, Leah (Jeremy Trank) Galens and Jenny (Nick Wesley) Galens. He will also be dearly missed by his nine grandchildren, three sisters, and countless family and friends.
Friends may call Friday, April 21, from 5-7 PM at Fuller Funeral Home, Inc. 190 Buffalo St. Canandaigua. A 7 PM funeral service will follow at the funeral home. A 10 AM burial will be held Saturday, April 22, at Overackers Cemetery, Route 364, Middlesex.
A donation in Mike's memory may be made to: American Cancer Society, 1120 S Goodman St, Rochester, NY 14620.
