Obituary of Ella Jean Kemp
Jean was born in Reeds Corner, Wisconsin on January 10, 1924 to Louis and Martha (Frederick) Haese. Jean was the 7th of 8 children. She met and married Thomas Edward Kemp in Manitowoc, Wisconsin which was where their three children, Sharon, David and Victoria were born. In 1956 Tom and Jean were transferred to Fort Wayne, Indiana. They lived in Fort Wayne until 1959 when they were transferred to Maplewood, New Jersey. After their 3 children, married and moved to different parts of the country, Tom and Jean moved to Tustin, California in 1974. They loved the daily sunshine and many new activities in Sunny California.
Jean was a homemaker and enjoyed caring for her family. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her much joy. She loved music and played, piano and sang in her church choir. While living in New Jersey, Jean enjoyed going to many Broadway Musicals and New York City events and restaurants.
Tom and Jean loved traveling and visiting new places. They traveled throughout the United States and visited every state with the exception of the state of Maine.
They made several trips throughout Europe with Germany, Austria and Belgium being their favorite Countries to visit.
At age 95 Jean moved to New York to be close to Family. She loved her life at Ashton Place where she made new friends and was very well cared for by the Staff there. It is at Ashton place where she passed away peacefully.
Jean was predeceased by her husband Tom, of 47 years, and her daughter, Sharon Hatz of Pennsylvania.
Jean is survived by her son, David, of Marietta, GA, her daughter, Victoria (Harry) of Manchester, NY, grandchildren, Kimberly (Christopher) of Enola, PA, Michael (Nancy Carty) Law of Erie, PA, Kristen (Joseph) DeMarco of Jacksonville, FL, Ryan Thomas (Amy) Bowker of East Rochester, NY, Whitney (Hamish) of Beaconsfield, Australia.
Great Grandchildren, Alexandra Law, Gabriella and Gavin DeMarco, Roxie and Tallulah Nicholls.
Jean's Family would like to thank the entire Staff at Ashton Place for the exceptional care they provided to Jean during the 4 1/2 years she lived there. Jean loved all the Staff living at Ashton Place.
Calling hours will be held, Saturday, September 2, 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Fuller Funeral Home, Inc. 190 Buffalo St. Canandaigua. A 1:00 PM memorial service will follow at the funeral home.
