Robert Franklin Mendez, age 66, of Canandaigua, passed away on December 14, 2023, at FF Thompson Hospital, Canandaigua.

Robert was born in Newark, N.Y.to Marilyn Talley and Funador Mercado on May 20, 1957.

Robert was a long time employee of Mobil Chemical. In later years he worked at Thompson Hospital and Geneva General Hospital.

Robert is survived by his wife, Laurie Mendez; sons, Luke Mendez (Rebecca Arnold), and Charlie Mendez (Jodi KLink-Murphy); two stepchildren, Tracy Schrader (Doug Smith) and Joseph Schrader; siblings, Sandy Mendez (Julio Hernandez), Mark Mendez (Dawn Byington), David Mendez (Janet Mendez), and Michael Mendez (Shelley Wright). Robert had many grandchildren, nieces and nephews that he loved very much.

Robert was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Daniel Mendez.

No funeral service will be held at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
