Obituary of Donna J. Mangiarella

Donna Jean Mangiarella, November 22, 1937 – June 6, 2024 Donna passed away peacefully, into the arms of our Savior Jesus Christ, on Thursday, June 6, 2024. She was 86 years old. Donna was born in Olean, NY to Patricia McKie Webster and Frank Alberti on November 11, 1937. She was born with a kind, caring, loving soul that she shared with everyone she met. Donna resided on the Pines Avenue, at the M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center at F.F. Thompson Hospital. She lived there from April 2022 until her passing. Donna received excellent care and referred to the staff as her family. Regardless of whatever health challenges she had to overcome, she continued to keep a kind disposition and a smile on her face. Donna spent over 50 years dedicated to her profession and successful career. She was a licensed Cosmetologist and owner-operator of "Donna's Beauty Shop" on Jefferson Avenue in Canandaigua. Donna raised a family, went to Cosmetology school, managed her own business, and continued attending Cosmetology classes to offer the newest trends to her clients. She was active with the Association of Cosmetology Salon Professionals. Donna was very skilled and knowledgeable about bringing beauty out in others. Her customers were her greatest joy and accomplishments. They made her day and her heart smile. Her family believes retirement was one of the hardest decisions she ever had to make. Donna was predeceased by her husband James M. Mangiarella, her two brothers Robert Webster Jr. and Gilbert Case, her two sisters Sandra McMillan and Faye Fahrina. Donna is survived by her eldest daughter Deborah R. Crawford, son-in-law Jeffery S. Crawford and their sons Matthew P. and Jadon S., son James M. Mangiarella and his children Anthony J. and Jaime N., youngest daughter Jeanne M. Camar, son-in-law Joseph E. Camar and their sons Joseph J. and Jonathan R. She also leaves behind many extended family members. Donna was also blessed with two great grandchildren, Dylan M. Crawford who resides in Florida and Winnie Fisher who resides in Georgia. Donna loved her family and adored her grandchildren. She was always the loving Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend everyone wished they had. Donna was a devout Christian. She was selfless, prioritizing the welfare of others and extending empathy and compassion to those in need, including God's fur babies. She fed the strays, cared for the forlorn and fostered the homeless. There was always a wayward cat or dog on her porch looking for her kind and giving heart. No critter was ever turned away. Donna made monetary donations to animal shelters when they were in need. In lieu of flowers, Donna would be the happiest knowing a donation was made in her memory to: Lollypop Farm, 99 Victor Road, Fairport, NY 14450, 585-223-1330. Donations can be made by phone or online at info@lollypop.org The Mangiarella family would like to acknowledge the M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center at F.F. Thompson Hospital for the loving compassion, support and care given to our mother. Words cannot express the gratitude, love and appreciation we have in our hearts for the entire staff.
