Dolores M. Placito, 81, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 8th at Strong Memorial Hospital.
A lifelong resident of Canandaigua, she was born on May 17, 1943, to Mina and Nicholas Placito.
Dolores attended St. Mary's School, Canandaigua Academy and State University of Brockport. She taught third grade for 33 years, retiring in 1998. She was a member of the Canandaigua and Ontario County Teacher's Associations. During her years of teaching, she was active in organizing many teachers' retirement parties. She was a gifted speaker for such special occasions.
For several years, she was co-owner of Teddy Bear Togs, a children's clothing store here on Main Street.
Dolores took great pleasure in preparing and hosting luncheons and themed parties for family and friends in her own home. The laughter and camaraderie always brought a smile to her face. Her kindness and generosity will long and lovingly be remembered.
Dolores was talented in making her own greeting cards. Through the years she attended many craft shows and enjoyed meeting and chatting with the people who bought her designer cards.

An 11:00 AM funeral service will be held on Monday, Sept. 30th at Fuller Funeral Home, Inc., 190 Buffalo St. Canandaigua with the burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
