Obituary of Gay M. Robbins
Canandaigua, NY - Gay M. Robbins formally of Scottsville, NY, passed away surrounded by family on November 4th, 2024, at the age of 83.
She is predeceased by her husband, Thomas A. Robbins, survived by her children, Christopher (Jeanine) Robbins, Jennifer Robbins- Liberti, grandchildren, Chloe (Cory) Smiley, Olivia (Richard T.) Liberti, Hannah (Christopher) McLouth, Jacob (Lea A) Robbins and great granddaughters Estella Smiley and Penelope McLouth, brother Gary Maybee and brother-in-law Michael (Elda) Robbins.
A Rochester native, she attended Monroe High School where she loved to attend school dances and socialize with her classmates. As a child, her mother, Lenore, took her and her brother Gary on vacation to this special place we all have heard her speak of so fondly of, Cape Cod. This is when she was able to cultivate her deep love of Nauset Beach. She spent many years there vacationing as a child only to return there with her own children, again with her grandchildren and then to finally return with her great granddaughter this past summer.
That was not all the magic this magnificent woman was capable of. She was a wonderful gardener, crafter and whatever she set her mind to she could figure it out. From decoupaging Easter eggs in the 80's to gutter gardening and jewelry making in recent years, she was a crafter of all trades. If she wasn't crafting or baking, she was along the side of the road cutting flowers or grass clippings for a wreath she was making, baking bread and cookies for the upcoming holidays, or even driving a boat or a jet ski down the middle of Canandaigua Lake. You name it, she has probably done it. She was a bright and shining star for her family, friends and her community.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday, November 12, from 4-7 pm at Fuller Funeral Home Inc., 190 Buffalo Street, Canandaigua, NY. Graveside service will be held privately at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Gay's memory to Ontario Humane Society (Happy Tails Animal Shelter) www.ontariocountyhumanesociety.org.
