David S. Mitchell passed over peacefully on Nov 11th, 2024 at Rochester General Hospital

David is survived by his son, Willis D. Mitchell; granddaughter, Lilly Boyd; brother, Greg Mitchell; and his mother, Elizabeth Mitchell.

David was predeceased by his daughter, Melissa Mitchell.

He was born and raised in Canandaigua, and moved to Rochester in his 30s. An avid musician, he played many instruments in multiple bands throughout his life. He was very skilled with his hands and spent his life working as an auto-body technician, his last years at Ide Collision in East Rochester, NY. He was an excellent cook and prided himself in his ability to create smoked and grilled food and loved to share with his friends and family. He loved live music - Mainly Reggae, Soul and Funk and frequented live shows in Rochester. Hunting and hockey were both passions throughout his adulthood, and was a Bills fan through and through. He was a friend to all and his generosity and love-through-action was felt by all who met him. He would lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it and was a caring father to his children. He will be missed by many.
