Obituary of Russell G. Darling
Russell George (Bud) Darling,91 of Canandaigua, NY passed away November 27th surrounded by family.
Born in Rochester, NY to Russell William Darling and Dorothy M. (Walker) Darling on July 18, 1933. He attended the Wheatland School District. In August 1951 he enlisted in the Air Force and served 4 years. He trained at Lowry AFB in Colorado and served during the Korean War. Honorably discharged in 1955 he then resided in Tucson Arizona. In 2014 he was awarded the Ambassador Peace Medal from the people of South Korea which deeply touched him. He returned to New York and worked for the Palmyra Police department with his younger brother Robert for some time. He spent many years as a OTR truck driver across the country he loved.
Russell enjoyed hunting and fishing, interests he shared with his father. He always loved muscle cars and even raced dirt track in an old coupe. Later in life his hobbies include citizens band and ham radio.
Russell was a devout Catholic. He was also a life member of the Disabled American Veterans and was a former commander of his local chapter here in Canandaigua.
Russell is survived by his daughters Darcy Darling of Canandaigua, Donna Taylor of Taylors, South Carolina, Krista (Michael) Stonewell of Canandaigua, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, his brother Donald (Maryann) Darling of Bloomfield.
Preceded in death by his daughter Mary Moss of Canandaigua, his brother Robert (Alice) Darling of Palmyra, his sister Dorothy (Robert) Barber of Bloomfield, his father and mother both of Bloomfield.
Friends may call Tuesday, December 3, from 12-2 PM at Fuller Funeral Home, Inc. 190 Buffalo St. Canandaigua. A 2 PM funeral service will follow at the funeral home.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center, The Office of The Aging, and the Canandaigua Veterans Association.
