Margaret Mary Proseus

Margaret Mary (Peggy) Proseus of Canandaigua, NY was born in Rochester, NY on March 18, 1948. She passed away on December 26, 2024, at the age of 76.

Peggy attended St. John the Evangelist Grade School and Our Lady of Mercy High School in Rochester, NY. She excelled in academics, violin and voice during those years. She went on to receive a bachelor's degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology from Nazareth College, Rochester, NY. She was employed as a social worker for several years, then trained to be an x-ray technician; she worked in that field for several years. She then attended the Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, NY and earned an MBA. After receiving her degree, she pursued a career as a financial advisor.

Peggy was predeceased by her parents Richard and Mary Elizabeth Proseus and spouse Pamela Tarkington, M.D. She is survived by her sisters Barbara Louise Ives, Judith Ann Safranski, Mary Catherine Bell, their spouses and nieces and nephews.

An 11 AM graveside service will be held Friday, January 3, at Woodlawn Cemetery, 130 N. Pearl St. Canandaigua.
