James R. Shuler Obituary

James Richard Shuler (Jim), age 73, of Victor, NY, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2024, at Strong Memorial Hospital.


Jim was born in Rochester, NY to James and Rose (Frearson) Shuler on November 12, 1951. He graduated from Greece Arcadia High School in 1970. He went on to earn a degree in Business from Norwich University in 1974. He worked for Kodak for thirty years.


Jim was a sports and outdoor enthusiast. He enjoyed attending baseball, football, and hockey games, and car races with his brother and family. He traveled extensively throughout the United States and was particularly interested in American history and our national parks. He also enjoyed deer hunting and camping. In his later years he was a frequent champion in sports fantasy leagues.


Despite a long and difficult battle with a variety of health challenges, Jim maintained a quiet hope and attitude of perseverance. His kindness and generosity touched all those who knew him.


Jim is survived by his brother, David (Mary Jo) Shuler of Canandaigua, NY; niece Lori (Chris) Cunningham, and nephew Brian (Nichole) Shuler, and great-nieces and nephews Collin, Aiden, Ian and Nora. He is preceded in death by his parents.


A funeral service will be held at Fuller Funeral Home at the family's convenience. The burial will follow at White Haven Cemetery Memorial Park, in Pittsford, NY, where he will be laid to rest next to his parents.
