Obituary of Liam P. Kennedy

Liam Patrick Kennedy, 49, of Canandaigua, New York, passed away unexpectedly on December 29, 2024, in Canandaigua. Liam was born in Hartford, CT to Michael F. and Linda M. Kennedy on March 27, 1975. He grew up in Amherst, NY and graduated from Amherst Central High School in 1993. He went on to earn two associate degrees from Finger Lakes Community College in Canandaigua, NY. Since moving to Canandaigua for school, he enjoyed playing music with several bands including Tryptic Soy. He started his landscaping career working with his Grandfather Stoeckl in Buffalo, NY. Once in Canandaigua, he continued working and learning with several landscaping companies. In 2006, he founded Outward Landscape and Design. He invested all his energies and talents into making Outward a significant company in the area. His entire working career was in the field of landscape and landscape design. For recreation, he enjoyed live music of all kinds and many outdoor activities such as skiing, hiking, and boating on Canandaigua Lake. Once he moved to the Finger Lakes Region, his heart was heavily invested in the area. Liam is survived by his two sons Cooper and Levi Kennedy of Canandaigua; his ex-wife Carrie Kennedy of Canandaigua; his parents Michael and Linda Kennedy and his sisters Erin (Kennedy) Sidoni and Coleen (Kennedy) Gilbert all of Buffalo, NY. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Floyd and Arline Stoeckl, and his paternal grandparents Daniel and Marie Kennedy. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 10, from 4-7 PM at Fuller Funeral Home, Inc., 190 Buffalo St. Canandaigua. A Celebration of Life memorial will be held in Buffalo, NY, March 2025. A specific date and location TBD. In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting memorial donations for an Education Fund for Cooper and Levi. Check donations for Cooper and Levi should be made out to Carrie Kennedy or Michael Kennedy and sent c/o Outward Landscape and Design at P.O. Box 399 Canandaigua, NY 14424. Alternatively, donations may be made in Liam ‘s memory to the Canandaigua Lake Watershed Association, 144 Mill Street, Canandaigua, NY 14424.
