Obituary of Gavin James Godlewski

Gavin James Godlewski, 62, of Canandaigua, NY passed away on January 4, 2025. He was predeceased by his mother, Theresa Godlewski. Gavin is survived by his wife of 32 years, Debbie Godlewski; two daughters, Gina Godlewski (fiancé Alex Petrocci) and Megan Godlewski (husband Marcellus Stephens); one grandson, Marcellus Stephens II; his brothers, Mark (Elaine), Gregory and Eric Godlewski; his sister, Aimee (Edward) Servati; several nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews. His presence will be deeply missed by all those who knew him. Gavin was known for his love of the simple pleasures in life. Whether it was casting a line into the water, enjoying the warmth of the sun on his face, or listening to music. He had a competitive side and enjoyed playing games with family and friends. Gavin also had a special liking for the lottery, scratch-offs and horse racing. He spent many hours dreaming of big wins, with the thrill of hearing his winning numbers, excitement of ticket scratches, and sitting on the edge of his seat at the track. Above all, Gavin was proud of the life he built with Debbie, seeing his girls begin building lives of their own, and getting to spend quality time with his grandson. Gavin will be remembered for his unique perspective on life and his natural ability to make people laugh with his quick wit and quirky sense of fun. Family and friends may call January 9th from 4-6 p.m. at Fuller Funeral Home, Inc. 190 Buffalo St. Canandaigua. A funeral Mass will be held Friday, January 10th at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Church, 95 N. Main St. Canandaigua. Gavin will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery, Canandaigua.
