Melissa "Darla" Kleckner, of Canandaigua, New York, passed away peacefully on January 18th, 2025, surrounded by her family and friends after a brief hospice stay at Hospeace House in Naples, New York.
Darla was born in Canandaigua, New York to Jack and Carolyn Palma on August 4th, 1958. She attended grade school in Victor, New York.
Darla enjoyed her job as a Social Service Assistant at the caregivers call center at the VA medical center in Canandaigua, NY. Unlike Mick Jagger from her favorite band, The Rolling Stones, she got plenty of satisfaction listening to classic rock music.
Darla is survived by her brother Jack Palma Jr. of Panama City, Florida, brother Steven (Margo) Palma of Canandaigua, New York, Sister Lisa Lee of Sherman, NY, long-time stepfather Terry (Penny) Wheeler, sister-in-law, Diana Warren of Canandaigua New York and life-long friend Kay Hoyt of Victor New York and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her long-time husband Richard Kleckner, mother Carolyn (Palma) Wheeler, father Jake Palma Sr., sister Charlene Moneymaker, sister Jacquelyn McCall, and her beloved four-legged fur children, Salty, Pinky, Dinger and Jake.
A private burial service will be at Woodlawn cemetery in Canandaigua NY at a later date.
