Mr Castiglia, thank you for being the person that you are. I was so intimidated by you when I went to college with Jon at Bucknell. You turned out to be one of the best people I have ever met. I'm sorry I lost contact with you over the years. I will always remember you giving me the biggest bear hug after we beat Cornell on a goal line stand in 1995. My family and I will never forget you and your legacy.

We were so sorry to hear of Nick's passing. In addition to being known as a good husband and father, and an active pillar of the community, he is fondly remembered among the Olympic Weightlifting fraternity as one of a small group who ever totaled over 1,000 pounds. He will be remembered and missed.

Nick... I'm sorry I couldn't be there with you in the final days. I tried. You were made of steel, I didn't think you could ever get sick! This man was cast in gold, then they broke the mold. Old 'Indiana Jones's' adventures sometimes would've seemed kinda tame compared to ours, right? Cathy and Family...take courage. Nick left a wondrous legacy. His strength and courage will live on in you all. Our thoughts and love are with you. The Perriello family

To all of my Gumba's loved ones, my heartfelt condolences go out to you. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers during this time, as it is with regret that I cannot be there. My last memory of Nick was at my wedding 6 years ago, and he stopped my husband (Chad) in the buffet line to give him the good old "Godfather" warning about treating me right. Dad(Lou)had to reel him back in! Although it didn't humor Chad much at the time, I still smile whenever I think about it. With deepest sympathy, Laurie Elliott (Perriello)

Nick was a real character when we first met in the mid sixties. I stopped by his place one day in the new, old,Doe Haven. He took me downstairs and picked up a 135 pound olympic barbell, pressed it several times, and with a grin, handed it to me. I strained to get it overhead once and failed. He said I showed promise for a 150 pound shrimp! Over the next several years I spent many hours with him discussing strength training and lifting techniques. I did get much stronger, but never like the man. He walked and talked like he would live forever. My thoughts and prayers go out to you, his loved ones. He is still the man!
