Obituary of Nicholas Castiglia

Nicholas Francis Castiglia, of Victor NY, loving husband, father and grandfather died Tuesday May 13th 2008. He was 66. Mr. Castiglia is a graduate of the University of Buffalo, where he was a standout football player. He served in the Army as a private First Class and was honorably discharged. An avid sportsman, Mr. Castiglia competed as both an Olympic lifter and body builder, winning the Mr. Rochester over 40 title. He will be most remembered for his dedicated volunteer service to countless area youth as the strength and fitness coach for the Canandaigua Braves. His legacy of hard work and dedicated discipline lives on in the scores of young men he mentored in over 25 years of service. .Nicholas Francis Castiglia, son of Frank and Carolyn Castiglia, was born on March 16, 1942 in Binghamton and raised in Fulton NY. He is survived by his loving wife, Catherine, and his daughters Suzanne (Terry) Byrne and Tracey (Eliot) Tuchman; sons Nicholas (Jackie) Castiglia, Jon (Amy) Castiglia and Captain Nathan Dolce U.S. Army; his brothers Frank Jr. (Nila) James (Wilma), sisters Joyce and Wilma Jean (Susan); his grandchildren Nicholas, Carolyn, Katie, Sam, Victoria, Gianna and Angelina and 11 nieces and nephews. Friends may call Friday May 16th from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Fuller Funeral Home Inc. 190 Buffalo St. Canandaigua. A prayer service will be held Saturday May 17th at 9:30 AM. at the Funeral Home followed by a funeral Mass at 10 AM. at St. Mary's church in Canandaigua NY.
