RICHARD I. BARTHOLOMA 1925 – 2007 CANANDAIGUA: Richard Bartholoma, 81, 0f Ketchum Road died unexpectedly on March 17, 2007. Richard was born in Rome, NY on December 26, 1925 to the late Elmer and Mildred Bartholoma. He graduated from Oneida High School and attended the Syracuse University satellite campus in Utica. He served with the U.S. Navy aboard the cruiser USS Montpelier in the South Pacific. Richard had been an occupational therapist at the VA Medical Center in Canandaigua and retired in the 1980s after 25 years of service. He was currently operating the carousel at Eastview Mall. Richard had been active in the refurbishing of the carousel at Roseland Park and was involved with its transfer from Canandaigua to Carousel Mall in Syracuse. He had been a Boy Scout leader (Troop 29) for several years and was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. He and his wife Elsie are well known Saint Bernard breeders and owned and operated Bristol Rune Saints for many years. He was a founding member of the Bristol Valley Training Club, a member of the Dog Obedience Training Club of Rochester, New York "DOTCORNY" and a member of the Kanadasaga Kennel Club. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Elsie, his daughters Karen Bartholoma and Sherry Liney, his grandson Peter Kraft and several nieces and nephews. There will be no prior calling hours. A Memorial Service will be conducted at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 320 South Pearl Street, Canandaigua, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 24.
