I am so sad to learn that Doris has passed away. She was a great lady, and a dear friend. Throughout all our years as neighbors on Taylor Road, I have been in awe of her energy, her enthusiasm for her farm, her respect of nature and her love of animals. Doris taught me and my kids the art of stacking hay ... she would not leave a barn till the last bale was perfectly positioned. Her joys in life were simple pleasures indeed ... a cool drink of water on a 95 degree June day, a snuggle from her beloved cats, and a rare stolen moment to gab in the back yard. My deepest sympathies to her family. Taylor Road has lost an institution. We will miss seeing her driving that tractor home at sundown.
