Obituary of Doris Wesche

Doris J. Wesche Loving mother and grandmother SHORTSVILLE — Doris Jean Wesche, 80, passed away on Oct. 10, 2010 at her home. She was the widow of Merle Alvin Wesche, who passed away on Dec. 27, 2000. Born in North Hornell, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late William and Ethel Chandler. She was a graduate of Ithaca College, where she received a teaching degree. She and Merle owned and operated their family farm on Taylor Road for more than 40 years. She had a great love of animals. She is survived by two sons, Allan (Laura) Wesche and Gerry (Amy Yerkes) Wesche; one daughter, Jean (Steve) Kelsey; sisters, Elaine (Everett) Brooks and Wilma Pettys; five grandchildren, Jeffrey, Benjamin, Andrew, John and Katharine; and several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Arthur Chandler. There will be no calling hours. A private funeral service will be at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Pioneer Cemetery.
