I worked with Verna at the Star Market while in High School in 1965 and 1966. The highlight of my week was when Verna, Ida and I would go out to dinner on Friday nights during our dinner break. I was 'honored' that the girls would include a 'kid' on their dinner breaks. My mother, Joan Damann, worked in the Meat Dept. at Star and she would fill me in over the years about Verna and Ida. I learned a lot about the 'real world' working with Verna 40-some years ago.
