Obituary of Verna Reals

VERNA P. REALS Loving Mother & Grandmother CANANDAIGUA: Verna Perry Reals, formerly of North Pearl Street, died Friday, September 19, 2008 at the Ontario County Health Facility. She was 90. Verna was born in Canandaigua on July 24, 1918 to the late Clarence M. and Gracia Taylor Perry. She was a graduate of Canandaigua Academy and had been a member of the First Congregational Church. She had been associated with the former Canandaigua grocery stores the A&P, the Market Basket and later retiring from Star Market where she had been head cashier. Often referred to as “Red Top”, she was described by her family as being feisty, spunky and stubborn while loving to take care of her family. The widow of George Reals, who died in 1969, she is survived by her daughters Caroline Povero of Victor and Marlene (Paul) Kruly of Gorham; her grandchildren Anthony Povero, Atlanta, GA, Katherine Povero, Augusta, GA, Zachary Kruly with the Air Force in OK and Alicia Kruly of Honeoye; her sister Geraldine E. Perry of Canandaigua and several nieces and nephews and many friends. Her twin brother, Laverne Perry of Ohio, died on September 12. LaVerne’s obituary can also be seen on this web site. She was also preceded in death by her siblings Everett Perry, Edson Perry, Frances Perry, Marjorie Perry Smith and Janice Perry. Friends may call at the Fuller Funeral Home, 190 Buffalo St., Canandaigua, Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. where funeral services will be held Friday morning at 11. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
