Obituary of Dorothy Fingado

Dorothy R. Fingado March 28, 1917 ~ August 24, 2011 Canandaigua, NY Dorothy Ruth Fingado, 94 of Canandaigua, NY passed into her heavenly home on August 24, 2011. Born in Otego, NY at the homestead on Briar Creek Road, March 28, 1917, she was the daughter of Charles and Adella Place. Dorothy lived in N. Syracuse and worked in retail sales before retiring to Holiday, FL to live with her sisters. She returned to upstate NY in 2001 to live with her daughter, Donna, and family on Old Brookside Lane. She greatly enjoyed reading and studying the family genealogy. She stayed current on the news and amazed acquaintances with her sharp mind at 94 years of age. Dorothy was a devoted Christian and loving member of her church. She prayed faithfully for her family and friends that they would love the Lord and walk in His truth. She had a heart for missions that the world might hear the good news of Christ. After living a full life in serving Jesus, she longed to be with her Savior in heaven. This desire of her heart was granted. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Walter Place, Arthur Place, Edith Rinsma, Edna Anderson and her husband Glenn William Fingado of Harvard, NY, WW II, PFC, U.S. Army deceased 10/26/1981 She is survived by her daughters; Loisann Kozlowski and husband Stan, of Liverpool, and Donna Allen, and husband Douglas, of Canandaigua, her Grandson, Stanley Kozlowski of Liverpool; her granddaughter, Jennifer (Allen) Check and her husband, Jonathan of Victor, with daughters, Hannah Grace and Rebekah; her grandson, Jonathan Allen and his wife, Jessica of Salisbury, NC with sons, J.D. and Jairus; her grandson, Jared Allen and his wife, Janelle of East Rochester, with daughter, Riley. A 7:00 pm Memorial Service, celebrating God’s grace in Dorothy’s life, will be held Thursday, September 1, 2011 at LifeSpring Community Church, 5026 North Road, Canandaigua. A private burial service will take place prior to the service at Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay, NY. Funeral arrangements were made with the Fuller Funeral Home, Buffalo Street, Canandaigua.
