Obituary of Jean Hogg
JEAN P. HOGG
BLOOMFIELD: Jean Hogg, 89, of Main Street, passed away at her home on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011.
Jean was born in Rochester on March 28, 1922 to the late Keren and Alvena Pritchard. She attended St. Salome's School in Irondequoit and was a graduate of Nazareth High School. As an adult she graduated from CCFL, now FLCC,in Canandaigua. She and her late husband owned and operated the former Exit 29 Antiques in Canajoharie and remained active in the antique trade for many years. She was a member of St. Bridget's/St. Joseph's Church for over 60 years where she was active in King's Daughters and the visitation ministry. Jean was a member of the Bloomfield Rotary Club, Quilt Club and Garden Club. She was also a member of the Genesee Valley Quilt Club.
She is survived by her children Merrily & Bill Whitaker, Webster, Lawrence & Latane Hogg, Fairport, Douglas Hogg, Jr., Bloomfield, Beth & Charles Tannous, Webster, Kevin & Karen Hogg, Bristol, Brian Hogg, Baptist Hill, Kim & Scott Brocklebank, Canandaigua, Dana & Tim Shaffer, Ft. Plain, NY, Kerry Lewis, Durham, NC and Keren Hogg, Bloomfield; 30 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Douglas Hogg in 1995, her grandson Dustyn Hogg, her sisters Margaret Wixsom Hummel and Karen Kantar and her brother Donald K. Pritchard. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
There will be no prior calling hours. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Bridget's/St. Joseph's Church, Bloomfield, Monday morning at 10. Burial will be in St. Bridget's cemetery. The family suggests that memorial contributions be directed to the Jean Hogg Rotary Scholarship, c/o Bloomfield Rotary Club, POB 7, Bloomfield, NY 14469.
