Every time I hear something about lake effect snow, I think of Flo and Liz and my visit with them in Canandaigua many years ago and the snow the buried my car! So, when I heard on the news tonight about the lake effect snow that is currently expected, I looked Flo up to see what she is doing these days and saw that she had passed away. I am so sorry to hear that. My condolences to Liz and to the Gilkey family. I always enjoyed my time spent with each of you, and am very sorry for your loss.

Oh Liz! I am so sorry for yours and the rest of the families loss. And what a loss it is! I was a new RN when Flo came to the continuing care center as the first NP ever there. I learned so much from her and made a friend. She was always impeccable in appearance, her white hair not one out of place and her white lab coat clean and pressed. She had a great sense of humor and a contagious laugh. The residents loved her, she had a great bedside manner. Loved the visit at the house aptly named "endless projects" and meeting the dogs of that day which were a basset and a saint Bernard ( little bit and Jordy... maybe) Over the years I always enjoyed catching up with the two of you at the hospital or grocery store. Rest in Peace Flo, and peace be with you Liz.

Flo was my dessert buddy. I met her through Lisa von Hacht (Caputo). She was a warm and wonderful individual whom was always fun to talk with about many subjects -- we mostly spent holidays together when she and Liz came to Lisa's to celebrate Christmas. The Von Hacht family doesn't have a sweet tooth among them - but my friend Flo shared her wonderful taste for desserts and sweets with me. She and I made up for the rest of the family! I will miss those moments my friend. God bless.

Flo was my first Nurse Manger at the VA. She was a wonderful role model, a dedicated professional and an inspiring teacher. I feel blessed to have worked with her on 4 west. Prayers for her family.

My condolences to Liz and the family of Flo. I remember those days at the VA with Flo and Liz, both highly skilled nurses who were respected in their supervisory capacities. May her memories sustain and comfort you in the time ahead.

What a woman! A true nurse model for so many from long ago VA days. I loved Liz, too. Life is good because of you both.

Flo was my sister in law. She and my sister Liz were influential in my also becoming a nurse. Our conversations around the dinner table were educational , medical and to our family "gross"!.
We went on a wonderful RV camping trip to many National Parks out west and the Grand Canyon. Flo drove their RV bus through Chicago. She had no fear maneuvering the RV Bus through all that congested traffic. She was an Army truck driver while serving her country. Liz and I sat in the back of the bus afraid to watch. We listened to the entire Harry Potter series lasting the entire trip. Flo make baked beans every night for a side dish to dinner. I have not had another baked bean since.
I am blessed with many wonderful memories of Flo. I will miss her. May she rest in peace. Lisa Caputo
